Music & Mentorship

Generations Learn from Each Other

Youth Music Exchanges Benefit Everyone

Members of our Senior Rock Ensemble join youth in their choirs and theater programs to share music and stories, create and perform, and learn from one another. These inter-generational exchanges are designed to bridge divides and create belonging, build confidence, reframe aging for a younger generation, and increase empathy. They also help address an epidemic of loneliness and isolation experienced by people of all ages.

Through creativity, music and mentorship, lifelong friendships are formed, and everyone comes away feeling inspired and valued. It’s a win-win!

“We had about 40 minutes of amazing reflection and conversation today in choir. Every one of my students was extremely moved and transformed by their experience. Thank you thank you thank you!!”

– Beth Hellstedt, Maple Grove Senior High Choir & Musical Theatre Director
