Alive & Kickin Was Conceived to Provide a Platform to Be Seen and Heard as You Age
When A&K’s founder set out to address the needs of older adults in his life who felt invisible, he could not have known he was at the forefront of a movement. The Senior Rock Ensemble became a platform for older adults who loved to sing and use their voices, talents, and lifelong experiences to show others they still mattered, and to offer themselves a new beginning.

Creative Aging was fueled by Baby Boomers who were not willing to be labeled as obsolete. They refused to retire to their couches. The concept has since been recognized and adopted by communities and nonprofits, policy makers and senior service providers as a pathway to better health, wellbeing, and joy. A&K has evolved as a place for all older adults to learn, move, sing, engage and embrace a Creative Aging lifestyle though our community.
