Michael Laibson

After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Theatre Arts, I ventured to New York where, between acting gigs, I began working with daytime dramas. I spent over 20 years working on and ultimately producing Guiding LightAll My ChildrenAnother World and As the World Turns, for which I won an Emmy.

After retiring, I spent a couple of decades teaching acting, directing, writing and producing in NYC at New Actor’s Workshop under the direction of Mike Nichols, and the New York Film Academy, and at Montclair State University in Montclair NJ.

Alive & Kickin has rekindled my love of performance, and though the instrument is older, the spirit is still incredibly young!

FUN FACT: I was at a UCLA Theatre Arts party when one of the guests arrived late. The guest was Rob Reiner, and he had just shot the pilot for “All in the Family.”
