32 & Foolish: A Birthday Benefit Concert
February 12, 2018, 7:00pm - February 12, 2018, 9:00pm
This one celebrates 5 years we've been joining forces to cheers my birthday and raise money for a rad organization! This year I'm honoring Alive & Kickin MN! The deal is the same - I'll put on a concert, you show up, give what you can and we all spread some good juju out into the universe.
32 & Foolish
Monday February 12 at 7:00pm (Doors open at 6:30pm)
Music Direction by Jason Hansen
$10 suggested donation to benefit Alive & Kickin'
With guest performances by Daniel Greco, Adam Qualls, Robbie Droddy, Joey Clark, Sheena Janson, Ryan Lee and Zach Kaltenborn.
I had the great pleasure of sitting down with the cast of Alive & Kickin' and asked them "what advice would you give your younger self?" - their stories inspire the music of this year's concert. And! A few members of the group will join us for a special performance!
Alive & Kickin is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that features a talented ensemble of rockin senior performers ages 65-91 that entertain multi-generational audiences through popular contemporary music and personal stories. Each performance, whether a large, full-scale production, a corporate event or (our favorite) senior community gig, promises to surprise, move and inspire audiences of all ages. Our fearless leader has earned rave reviews for his staging of "Mama Mia" at the Duluth Playhouse (the regional premiere, no less). Are we surprised? Of course not. Are we proud? You bet. Rock on, Mr. Ferrell!
From the moment the opening night audience for "Mamma Mia!" walked into the restored NorShor Theatre, we were overwhelmed by the inescapable conclusion that the Duluth Playhouse is not just another "community theater."
